Well, my 360 is finally giving up. I'm getting a PS3, and this is gonna be my last middle finger to Microsoft. I'm keeping my 360 and getting it fixed, but I'm underway on writing an emulator for PCs. I'm growing tired of the death of 360s, really annoying. 3 red lights, error code 0020, and my local shop wants £60 for fixing it. Ah well so much for that. I'll still be around on LIVE and Xbox's, just for the first time since the original Xbox, I feel like it's a cheated system. Shame like 'cause I've spent a fortune on it. Anyone got any ideas as to what the error code is, RAM? Motherboard? GPU? Overheat? Works fine sometimes and for hours on end, just sometimes messes up on me. Way of the world I guess.

E08: Unconfirmed: General I/O Malfunction, could be caused by an error with any of the I/O devies such as A/V port, USB, Hard drive, DVD drive, etc. over torquing of the AV or heatsync bolts can cause this error.

Taken from Xbox-scene guide. HDD is the only thing on the list that can be checked without tampering.

X is there any chance that you can get it through warranty? If they replaced it with a new one they may just come and replace it. I know of a couple of people who had errors that were deffo not RROD and they had theirs replaced.

Oh and there's no harm in getting a PS3 anyway. Play TV is quite handy!

Went and got a 360 elite package. They wouldn't fix my old 360, it's an old core model (20GB HDD one of the first) and it was 2nd hand.

PS3 is coming later, need to buy one for some games including GT 5. I prefer the packaging of games on the PS3 to the DVD cases of the 360.

So I take it your elite is the one that has packed up? Still might be worth trying for the warranty.
