It was my opinion (and it is just opinion - with a little experience thrown in for good measure) that you can legally make a back up of any software you own. This includes cd's, dvd's and games. However, when in the US the courts passed a ruling to say you cannot decript the disks this effectively meant that although you are allowed a back-up, you cannot actually get one. Now I know you're thinking, it's ok I live in the UK. Well, not strictly true - we do still have an expedition treaty (as those that work in finance will know - the Natwest fiasco). Therefore I would err on the side of caution!

To my related forum? It's a clan. I don't think you have to worry about people leaving your forum for a clan forum. Completely different things.
